WHITEGATE WAY PR

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY.
A LOT HAS CHANGED SINCE LAST YEAR
AS A RESULT OF COVID-19
AND THE NEW EGB CLUBHOUSE ENTRY SYSTEM.

Venue: A field on the corner of Stoneyford Lane and Cuddington Lane at the crossroads opposite the Forest View Inn (address of the Forest View Inn: Gallowsclough Lane, Oakmere, Northwich, Cheshire, CW8 2TG).

Ride Route: Approx. 28km (Class 1) or 18km (Class 2) along the Whitegate Way with loops off of it.

Entries open: For Members through Clubhouse on the EGB site from 6pm on Monday 29th June.
Any remaining places will be available for Non-Members from 10am on Sunday 5th July.
Non-Members will need to sign up as Supporters on the EGB site before entering.

Entry Fees:
£10 EGB - Full and Associate Members;
£15 Non-Members (including 1 day temporary membership for insurance cover).

Start Time: Venue open from 8.30am Start times will be provided.

There will be strict COVID measures in place and entrants will need to adhere to them at all times including arrival and start times, entries will only be accepted through clubhouse (see below) and will be capped.

Maps and paperwork will need to be downloaded from this website to minimise contact.

COVID requirements and any other ride specific information will be sent to entrants from clubhouse.

PLEASE REMEMBER that you MUST upload a legible copy of your horses Equine Flu Vaccination Certificate with your online entry.

FOR THE AVOIDANCE OF ANY DOUBT YOU NEED TO INCLUDE THE FIRST PAGE (IDENTIFICATION PAGE WITH NAME OF THE HORSE) AND THE VACCINATION PAGE(S) COVERING THE LAST FOUR YEARS. IF ALL FOUR YEARS ARE ON THE SAME PAGE THE UPLOAD SHOULD INCLUDE TWO PAGES. IF VACCINATIONS ARE SPLIT OVER TWO PAGES THEN ITíS THREE TO SEND.

CHESHIRE VILLAGES & BYEWAYS PR

Venue: A field on the corner of Stoneyford Lane and Cuddington Lane at the crossroads opposite the Forest View Inn (address of the Forest View Inn: Gallowsclough Lane, Oakmere, Northwich, Cheshire, CW8 2TG).
.There is no water or catering van. Please assume there wonít be portable toilets and bring your own potty!!
Venue open from 7.30am. Specific start times from 8am will be provided.

Ride Route: Approx. 21km (Class 1).

Route Description : This NEW route uses quiet lanes, restricted byeways and bridleways to wind through gently undulating countryside including the villages of Norley and Kingsley. Expect to ride at a steady ĒhackĒ pace rather than at endurance speeds with opportunity to admire many pretty cottages and gorgeous gardens. There are 4 gates en route (2 will be tied open, other 2 can be done from horseback) plus 0.5km on a wide, 50mph B road. There is an optional shortcut to avoid the B road that reduces the ride to 16km. There is no overlap with the route used for Whitegate Way PR and only 4km overlap with route of the autumn Delamere PR. Only a single 21km class is offered BUT there are easy shortcuts should you want to reduce your mileage on the day.

Directions to Venue from A556 From the east (ie from Northwich): Approx Ĺ mile after traffic lights at A49 junction, turn RIGHT into Stoneyford Lane. From the west (ie from Chester): Approx Ĺ mile after J&S motorcycle showroom on right, and 100 yards after ďThe LoungeĒ cafe on right, turn LEFT into Stoneyford Lane.

All routes: Follow Stoneyford Lane down over railway bridge then up the hill. BEWARE, road narrows. Prepare to turn RIGHT at the staggered crossroads at brow of hill, into Cuddington Lane. Venue entrance is immediately on your right at the crossroads. (The Forest View Inn is also at crossroads, on the left, obscured by trees.)

Please take care turning into the venue, the ride route uses the same crossroads.

PARKING WILL BE CONTROLLED: PLEASE OBEY STEWARD INSTRUCTIONS PLEASE KEEP DOGS ON LEADS AT ALL TIMES. Covid restrictions will also be in place - make sure you read the ride instructions.

There is no formal vet inspection for this pleasure ride.

The route will be marked with white chalk arrows. Please print a copy of the map from this website and bring with you. While riding, please slow to a walk to pass other users, smile and be courteous!

Social distancing measures will be in place. You will need to bring hand sanitiser, gloves and a face mask.

Entries Ė limit of 40 entries. Ride opens on Club house on 6pm 14th July for Endurance GB full and associate members, 10am 19th July for everyone else.

Non-Members will need to sign up as Supporters on the EGB site before entering.

Directions to venue

NB. Sat Nav takes you up a short cut along narrow lanes. Please use directions provided which are also on the Waen Ganol Stables website.

From Ruthin, take the B5105 signed Cerrigydrudion, through the village of Clawdd Newydd, approx. 4ml from Ruthin, then after a further 4mls, after S bend, take a right turn signposted to Cyffylliog, opposite the sign for Bod Petryal picnic area.
Follow for 1ml to venue which is on the right through double gates, on a left hand bend. Look for the Waen Ganol sign.

From the A5, the road via Melin Y Wig is steep and narrow so continue along the A5 to Cerrigydrudion and turn right onto the B5105. Go through Llanfihangel and continue in the direction of Ruthin. When you enter the forest area look for the Bod Petryal picnic area on the right and turn left opposite it signed to Cyffylliog. Then follow directions as from Ruthin.
